ABOUT THE EVENT

The Permanent Missions of Canada and Haiti along with the Observer Mission of France to the Organization of American states are pleased to invite you to a screening of the documentary-fiction Kouté Vwa, directed by Maxime Jean-Baptiste.


At the heart of the film, Melrick, a 13-year-old boy, spends his summer in Cayenne, French Guiana, with his grandmother Nicole. Fascinated by the sound of the drum, he dreams of learning to play. However, this desire awakens a painful memory: the tragic loss of his uncle Lucas, who died eleven years earlier. Caught between his family's grief and the thirst for revenge harbored by Lucas' best friend, Melrick must find his own path to forgiveness.
